Our Derbyshire Oatcakes have grown in popularity over the years and Buxton is one of our favourite places to get them. We get asked all the time where you can find our oatcakes out and about in Derbyshire, which is why we have decided to produce a list of Buxton’s best spots for Derbyshire Oatcakes. We stock our oatcakes locally but our catchment area is growing all the time, we currently deliver within four counties including Cheshire and Staffordshire. As far north as Hyde in Manchester and numerous outlets in Macclesfield and Bollington, Glossop to the east, and Ashbourne in the South.
Beltonville Farm Shop
Located in Buxton, Beltonville Farm welcomes guests to stay in their Bunkhouse Lodge & Shephards Hut or guests can experience the Peak District in all its glory by camping at their designated site. Beltonville Farm offers stunning views of Buxton and guests can experience the delights that their onsite farm shop has to offer, including our Derbyshire Oatcakes. They can be bought in packets and frozen or consumed straight with a variety of toppings, sweet or savoury.
Fitzgerald’s Craft Bakery
Located in the heart of Buxton, this local independent bakery is the perfect place to pick up a packet of our oatcakes, enjoy a cup of tea in their café and take in the sights that Buxton has to offer. Whilst you’re there you’ll be spoilt for choice with the freshly baked goods they have to offer.
Old Hall Hotel
This stunning, traditional hotel is one of the oldest buildings in Buxton. They offer a selection of spacious rooms with period features for a reasonable price and they have an extensive food and drink menu, what’s not to love? Our oatcakes are featured on the Old Hall Hotel’s breakfast menu and can be enjoyed as part of a traditional full English breakfast.
High Peak Bookstore & Café
This quirky bookshop and café in the Peak District is the perfect place to spend an hour or two. They have an eclectic selection of books on offer for you to flick through whilst enjoying the delights that their cosy café has to offer. You can enjoy a Derbyshire Oatcake in the best way possible, smothered in melted cheese and accompanied with a locally roasted coffee.
The Café at Green Pavilion
This family-run café and neighbouring flower shop in Buxton is the perfect place for a pit stop on your day out in Derbyshire. They have a large menu, including vegetarian and vegan options, meaning there really is something for everyone. Our Oatcakes can be consumed in several ways at The Café at Green Pavilion including with bacon, or sausage and cheese, beans and cheese or tomatoes and cheese. Our versatile oatcake can also be enjoyed as an accompanying element to their traditional, vegetarian and vegan breakfasts.
The Olive Tree
This traditional farm shop and café is situated in the quiet village of Sparrowpit and is a lovely place to visit for a catch up with a friend or to simply take in the Peak District scenery. The Olive Tree offers a selection of local produce and breakfast hampers that include fresh orange juice, bread, local sausages and bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms and of course the classic Derbyshire Oatcake. Yes, we know this is cheating but it is just outside Buxton and we felt it was worth a mention!
The Tradesman’s Entrance Café
Located in central Buxton, The Tradesman’s Entrance is a proper café that serves classic British food. They offer a selection of breakfast choices, with many of them featuring the Derbyshire Oatcake. You can let our Derbyshire classic take centre stage by ordering two grilled oatcakes stuffed with your choice of fillings and there’s even a vegan cheese option!
